Both with the leading effort, as a historical duty, of Chin University Students – Mandalay and by the generous monetary co-operation of Mandalay Chin families the 62th Anniversary of Chin National Day was grandly and successfully celebrated at City Hall, 26th/ 71st Sts, M.C.D.C. compound in Mandalay City, on 20 February 2010 (Sat).

Present on the occasion were the Executive Committee Members of Chin literature and Culture committee, Universities-Mandalay (CLCC-MDY), delegations from Kachin University Students Fellowship- Mandalay, Shan University Students Fellowship- Mandalay, Palaung Literature and
Culture Committee and elderly persons from CSSA (Chin Social Service Association)- Mandalay, local Chin people from far and near, invited guests and other observers. The estimated
number of the audience reached about 600.

At the celebration ceremony of the 62th Anniversary of Chin National Day, Salai Thawng Lian Cung acted as masters of ceremony (MC). The ceremony programme comprised two parts. First part: When it stroke 12:15 pm sharp, general secretary of  CLCC Salai Thawng Lian Cung formally declared the 62th Anniversary of Chin National day celebration  ceremony begin, and the programme continued as prearranged. First part of the ceremony was official and two speeches were delivered. Firstly senior president of CLCCUniversities- Mandalay, tutor L. Zuam Thang (English Department - Mandalay University) delivered speech on the background history of Chin National Day. The next speaker was Pa Thang Sian Khup whose speech partly dealt with the services given by Chin Social Service Association.

Next, conferring certificates of honour was carried on. Those accepting certificates of honour included students passing the matric exams with distinctions, honours students, qualified students etc. After the end of conferring certificates of honour, according to the item, there was gifts exchanged programme in hailing the 62th Anniversary of Chin National Day between both Chin-Kachin students and Chin-Shan students. After that first part of the programme came to a pause when the audiences were served with Asia Passion Juice. Second part of the ceremony programme started with the harmonious singiang of “Welcome to Chin State” in choir by U.C.F
(University Christians Fellowship) students. Also presented at the occasion were colourful Chin traditional lifestyle shows by Hakha- ThanTlang subcommittee, Falam subcommittee, Tiddim-Tonzang subcommittee, Matupi - Mindat- Kanpalet – Paletwa – Ashio subcommittee respectively. There also were stage show, modern and amazing fashion shows by Chin University students. When it was around 4:00 p.m. as the ceremony neared its end all the students took positions on the stage and sang “Welcome to Chin State” in choir holding each other’s hands. Thus the whole atmosphere was filled with brotherly affection. And the 62th Anniversary of Chin National Day celebration ceremony gradually came to a successful end at 4:30 p.m., and yet it was rather a new beginning of our love for our people and a renewal of volunteerism among Chin Students.
